Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, Ahsan Iqbal, chaired the Ministry of Planning’s Senior Management Committee meeting.

Attendees included Secretary Planning Ovais Manzur Sarmad, senior officials, project directors, and department heads.

The meeting reviewed ongoing projects and departmental performance, with Minister Iqbal directing comprehensive reforms to enhance the Ministry’s performance.

Key directives:

– Develop a clear strategy for each department.
– Establish CPEC Centre of Excellence as a research hub.
– Provide evidence-based guidance for CPEC’s second phase projects.

Minister Iqbal emphasized the need for effective planning and research to support informed decision-making.
