The Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Nadeem Aslam Chaudhary, has stated that despite facing multifaceted challenges, the provincial government is making earnest efforts to rid the region of the poliovirus.
He expressed these views during a meeting with a delegation from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) held on Monday. The meeting focused on discussing the ongoing polio eradication campaign and strategies aimed at eliminating the poliovirus from the region.
The Chief Secretary commended the work of BMGF in promoting universal access to health services, combating infectious diseases, and supporting anti-polio efforts in Pakistan.
He reaffirmed that polio eradication remains a key priority for the government, expressing hope that, with the support of all partners, polio would soon be eradicated.
