PESHAWAR- In response to the recent article published on print and social media the management of Edwardes College feels compelled to address the concerns raised and provide a balanced perspective. While we respect the media’s role in highlighting issues, it is crucial to clarify certain inaccuracies. First and foremost, Edwardes College remains steadfast in maintaining its legacy of academic excellence and moral development. Our institution continues to be a beacon of quality education, as evidenced by our robust academic programs, dedicated faculty, and the outstanding achievements of our students. The article suggests that government authorities and intelligence agencies have been silent and inactive regarding the college’s affairs. This claim is misleading. The relevant authorities, operating under the monitoring mechanism established by the Board of Governors and chaired by the honorable Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, are well-aware of the college’s operations and have been supportive in various capacities. Located in Peshawar Cantt, the authorities are intimately familiar with the happenings at the college. The administration of Edwardes College has implemented several measures to upgrade infrastructure and create a conducive learning environment. Our ongoing efforts include upgrading facilities, introducing new courses, and enhancing extracurricular activities to provide a holistic education experience. These initiatives are aimed at both academic excellence and the moral grooming of our students. We assure our stakeholders that all necessary measures are being taken to improve the institution’s standards. Open forums, regular updates, and transparent communication are integral to our strategy to keep the community informed and involved in the college’s progress. The notion that Edwardes College needs to be restored to its former glory implies a decline that does not accurately reflect the current state of the institution. While we acknowledge areas for improvement, it is important to recognize our continuous successes and contributions to society. Many of our recent graduates are now studying at some of the most reputed professional institutions in the country, a testament to our academic excellence. Edwardes College is renowned in the province for its extracurricular activities, which play a crucial role in student development. Our recent events, such as theatre productions, music festivals, and cultural festivals, underscore our commitment to these traditions. During a recent visit, Dr. Akhtar Ali Shah, former Home Secretary and an alumnus of the college, applauded our efforts in encouraging such literary activities. Edwardes College provides a healthy and conducive environment for students to engage in various sports and academic activities in the evenings. Our proctorial board ensures discipline is maintained, reflecting the college’s historical standards. There is no compromise on discipline at the college. In conclusion, Edwardes College is defined not by the criticisms of a few individuals but by the collective achievements of its students, faculty, and alumni. We remain steadfast in our mission to foster intellectual and moral growth. With the support of our community, we are confident in our ability to overcome challenges and continue our tradition of excellence. We invite all concerned individuals to visit our campus, engage with our administration, and see firsthand the positive strides we are making.
