On the issue of delay in the delivery of textbooks, Provincial Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat has said that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif had taken notice of the issue of delay in textbooks and we have completed the process of printing textbooks in 4 months instead of 7. Education Minister said that the Chief Minister of Punjab has directed to ensure the supply of correct books to all the students before the start of the academic session. 4 review sessions were also held in the last one week under the direction of Maryam Nawaz Sharif. Rana Sikandar Hayat said that in less than a month, 33% of the books were printed and 30% of the distribution was completed. The first phase of delivery of books has been completed on March 31, the second phase will be completed by April 20 and the third phase will be completed by May 20. The Education Minister said that a total of 2 crore books are to be published, out of which 75 lakh books have been published. 45 lakh books have been delivered to the districts. The provincial minister further said that last year the problem arose due to delay in tenders. In this regard, a report has been submitted to the Chief Minister of Punjab. He further said that the tenders were completed before the current government took charge. The process of tenders was completed by February 20, preparation for publication began on January 19, while tenders awarded on January 22 were opened on February 6. Thus, the task of printing was given to the printing press on February 26.
