Punjab Minister of Education Rana Sikandar Hayat, conducted visits to the Punjab Examination Commission (PEC), Danish School Authority and the Quaid e Azam Academy for Educational Development (QAED), where he was briefed on the performance & challenges of these institutions. The Education Minister was also briefed on the examination system of PEC and other matters, including the paper leakage scandal, and was informed about actions taken against those responsible. The provincial minister reviewed the transparency system of the Punjab Examination Commission and directed further measures to enhance transparency. Rana Sikandar Hayat emphasized the need for further steps to maintain transparency and expressed determination to make PEC the best examination department in the world within 5 years. During the meeting in Danish School Authority, Rana Sikandar Hayat praised the Danish School Model and expressed determination to play a role in solving current issues and challenges. He also expressed the intention to empower the Authority further and ensure the availability of funds. During the visit to “QAED” (Quaid e Azam Academy for Educational Development), Rana Sikandar Hayat stressed the need for training teachers on modern lines and especially emphasized the need for IT courses. The Education Minister issued directives to strengthen communication and relations between the Punjab Examination Commission and all boards, to improve examination procedures at the district level, and to align examination materials with international standards for children’s learning.
