QUETTA: The Secretary Industries, Muhammad Akbar Harifal has stated that there is a vast potential of investment in Balochistan, and the provincial government is taking certain steps for facilitation of the investors through one window operation.
He said that every possible facilitation would be ensured for the investors so as to attract them to make investment in the province.
The Secretary Industries was speaking on occasion of the Ease of doing business cell at the office of Balochistan Board of Investment and Trade (BBIT), here on Wednesday.
The cell has been established with cooperation of Governance and Policy Project (GPP).
Also present on the occasion were the head of GPP, Rashid Razzaq, Chief Executive Officer of BBIT, Saeed Ahmed Sarprah, Mahosh Saeed and other concerned.
Speaking on the occasion, the Secretary Industries spoke at length about the prospects of investment in the project saying that there are vast opportunities of investment in minerals, energy, mining, fisheries and other sectors.
He noted with contentment that the investors are coming to Balochistan after improvement in law and order situation.
In the prevailing situation, it is need of the hour to provide them (investors) necessary facilities including one-window operation and other ones, he maintained.
Mr. Harifal mentioned that the investors need all the facilities under one roof so that they may get easiness and facilities for investment and doing business.
He said that the BBIT and other concerned departments are taking steps to provide all facilities, so the investors may come and make investment.
Earlier, in his briefing, the CEO BBIT Saeed Sarprah told that local and foreign investors are ready to make investment of billions of dollars in Balochistan.
He said that several projects would be started in the province soon opening new chapter of prosperity and development in the province.
He mentioned that foreign investors have shown their interest in energy as well as setting up factories and plants of cement and vehicles manufacturing and other sectors in Gwadar, Hub, Lasbela and other areas.
Moreover, talks are also continued with several investment companies in this regard, Mr. Sarprah maintained.
In addition to this, the Investment Board has prepared online digital App, Balochistan Investment Guide in seven languages and business registration portal.
The CEO BBIT noted with pleasure that the Investment Board has also been given award by the Prime Minister on completing 29 out of 32 reforms in order to create comforts for investment in the province.
He also said that still more steps would be taken to attract investors in the province in time to come.
