Karachi: Director of the prominent beauty spotlight salon, Asma Naz, has highlighted the significance of makeup in enhancing women’s beauty, urging a preference for bridal and natural herbal cosmetics. As the country grapples with a significant unemployment crisis, Naz advocates for the promotion of short and long beautification courses to empower women and create job opportunities.
Naz, with two decades of experience in the beautician sector, asserts that girls should consider taking beautician courses alongside their studies, providing them with valuable skills to support themselves financially. Having contributed to various fashion shows and worked as a Backstage Makeup Artist with Organizer Zia Zafar in SRF-13-14, Naz stresses the positive impact of such courses on women’s lives.
Expressing concern over the potential negative consequences of increased duties and taxes on cosmetic items, Naz warns that such measures could adversely affect the beautician business. She urges the government to reconsider and withdraw any proposed hikes in duties and taxes on cosmetic products to sustain and encourage entrepreneurship in the beauty industry.
