Due to regular visits and constant follow-up of Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi, 4 mega projects of Lahore are near completion
Lahore : Good News for Lahoreites, four mega under construction projects are near to completion and will be opened for the general public very soon. Regular follow-up and continuous visits of chief minister Punjab Syed Mohsin Naqvi have resulted in the completion of ongoing work in record time. All four mega projects will be opened for the traffic in this month.Bedian Road Underpass, Akbar Chowk Flyover, Shahdara Flyovers and Khalid Butt Chowk Underpass will be opened for traffic in November. Due to regular follow-up of Chief Minister Punjab, development projects are being completed in record time. The entire team of LDA and contractors are working day and night to complete the mega projects. Akbar Chowk flyover project is being completed in a short period of 6 months instead of 10 months. Apart from two flyovers, the Akbar Chowk flyover project also includes 10 U-turns and remodelling of Maulana Shaukat Ali Road. During the remodelling of the Akbar Chowk flyover project, not a single tree was cut. The regular work on the project started on May 26 this year, while according to the contract, the final date to complete the project is March 25 next year. Similarly, the Shahdara flyover project is being completed in a short period of 7.5 months instead of 10 months. Construction work on the Shahdara flyover project started on 4th April according to the contract, and the deadline for completion of the project is 4th January next year. Bedian Road underpass project is being completed in a short period of two and half months instead of six months. The construction work on the project started on 26th August and according to the contract, the final date of completion of the project is February 26 next year.Khalid Butt Chowk Underpass is being completed in a short period of about 2 months instead of 6 months. Construction work on the project officially commenced on 14th September. According to the contract, the final day of completion of the project is 10th March next year. Despite the record rainfall this year, these projects are being completed in a record time ahead of schedule. These ongoing projects at the busiest points of the city will significantly improve traffic flow in the city. Completion of these mega development projects will benefit around eight lakh vehicles per day, saving crores of rupees in terms of fuel expenses and time.
