Double decker bus journey from Lahore Cathedral Church to Governor House on Christmas Eve

To add more color to the joy of Christmas, the Punjab Tourism Development Corporation Punjab (TDCP) has provided a free double-decker bus service on the occasion of Christmas.The double-decker bus led by former Provincial Minister for Human Rights and Minority Affairs Ijaz Alam Augustine left from Cathedral Church, opposite Lahore High Court and reached Governor House via Mall Road. Archbishop Lahore Sebastian Francis Shaw, Reverend Dr. Majeed Abel, MD Tourism Humira Akram, Director TDCP Ashfaq Dogar, representative of YDF Shahid Rahmat, lawyers community, representatives of civil society and Christian community rides the bus. The Bus was decorated in elaborate style and various caral songs were sung by the Christian community. The citizens of Lahore appreciated the Christmas bus initiative and welcomed the raiders at different roads.The MD TDCP said on the occasion that the main purpose of the free bus service is to share in the joy of the Christian community and to give a Christmas gift on behalf of the department. Former provincial minister Ijaz Alam Augustine said that he appreciates the initiative of free bus service on behalf of the Christian community and feels proud that all people in Pakistan, especially Punjab, are fully participating in the joys of the Christian community. He said that with such measures, mutual love and harmony will surely increase while hatred will be eradicated. Archbishop Lahore Sebastian Francis Shaw said that in the month of December, Christmas cakes were cut in public and private institutions as an expression of solidarity with the Christian community, and it was definitely a worthy event for the Christian community and other communities to participate in their joy. Reverend Dr. Majeed Abel said that the Christian community and other religious minorities across Pakistan are celebrating all their religious days with full enthusiasm and the positive side of Pakistan is becoming prominent around the world that we are all free and safe. Shahid Rahmat from YDF said that this journey Will be a good example of interfaith while civil society is being participating in the joys of Christian community to prove equality. The journey of the double-decker bus ended by reaching to the Governor’s House, where the Christian community also cut the Christmas cake along with the Governor of Punjab.
