The President of Pakistan has approved the prestigious Sitara-e-Imtiaz for Director General FIA, Ahmad Ishaq Jehangir, PPM, PSP , in recognition of his exemplary service to the nation.
A distinguished officer of the 20th Common, Ahmad Ishaq Jehangir joined the Pakistan Police Service in 1992. As the Additional DG of the Cyber Crime Wing of FIA , he spearheaded the development and execution of innovative strategies to combat cybercrime, leading to the arrest of numerous offenders and the disruption of illegal activities online.
Under his leadership, specialized cells were established nationwide to curb child sexual exploitation, adopting innovative and effective strategies. He was also instrumental in forging strong partnerships with international organizations to address cyber challenges. His proactive stance against human trafficking and the dissemination of fake, objectionable, and hateful content on social media has earned him widespread acclaim.
His leadership has not only enhanced FIA’s performance domestically but has also elevated its standing on the international stage. He has also been pivotal in modernizing traditional policing methods, including drafting the Police Rules 2017-2018, which have substantially improved police operations.
In recognition of his continued excellence in service, DG FIA, Ahmad Ishaque Jehangir was previously awarded the President’s Police Medal in 1995. The Sitara-e-Imtiaz will be conferred upon him during the official ceremony on March 23, 2025.
