LASBELA, BALOCHISTAN – SEPTEMBER 12,
Deputy Commissioner Lasbela, Hamira Baloch, has launched a polio vaccination campaign in the district by vaccinating her own newborn daughter, Zar Mah Baloch. This move aims to counter baseless propaganda against polio vaccines and raise awareness among the public.
At a simple yet dignified ceremony on September 9, Deputy Commissioner Baloch administered polio drops to her daughter, marking the beginning of the national polio campaign in Lasbela. She emphasized that polio is a deadly disease that must be defeated collectively and that Pakistan should be declared a polio-free zone.
Baloch also stated that baseless propaganda against polio vaccines is misleading and targets uneducated and illiterate individuals, causing them to refuse vaccination and putting their children at risk of contracting the disease.
