Deputy Chairman NAB Visits Quetta, Meets with CM and Speaker Balochistan Assembly”

Quetta, September 6, 2024 – Deputy Chairman NAB, Sohail Nasser, visited Quetta yesterday and held separate meetings with the Chief Minister of Balochistan and the Speaker of the Balochistan Assembly. The purpose of the meetings was to enhance coordination regarding complaints filed against members of the Balochistan Provincial Assembly (MPAs).

The Deputy Chairman stated that the Accountability Facilitation Cell (AFC) will work under the direct supervision of the Speaker of the Provincial Assembly. Complaints received by NAB against MPAs will be sent to the Speaker’s office through AFC for initial reports. NAB will then determine its future course of action based on the feedback received.

In line with the vision of Chairman NAB, Lt Gen (R) Nazir Ahmed, NAB is committed to protecting the dignity, rights, and personal respect of MPAs who have cases filed against them in NAB. To reflect this commitment, the term “accused” has been replaced with “defendant”. Furthermore, the Speaker of the Assembly will provide NAB with information related to its MPAs.
