QUETTA: The newly elected members of provincial assembly have vowed to work for betterment of the country and province besides resolving the issues of masses just forgetting the bitterness of elections.
They also vowed to play role for bringing peace and development of Balochistan with sincerity.
Some parliamentarians pleaded to declare Gwadar as calamity hit owing to the situation emerged due to torrential rains there.
They were expressing their views while speaking at the assembly forum that met with newly elected speaker Abdul Khaliq Achakzai in the chair on Thursday.
Those who spoke on the occasion were included: Mir Sadiq Umrani, Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, Ali Madad Jatak, Mir Zabid Reki, Farah Azeem Shah, Barkat Baloch, Abdul Majeed Badini, Zahoor Buledi, Younas Aziz Zehri, Mir Asadullah Baloch and others.
Speaking on the occasion, the members of assembly said that we have to resolve the issues of masses of Balochistan.
They also insisted that the new speaker would run the assembly affairs with impartiality. They also assured their full support to the newly elected speaker, Abdul Khaliq Achakzai.
Mir Sarfraz Bugti expressed the hope that new speaker would run the assembly with total impartiality. He also pleaded to run the House as a Jirga as per the province’s traditions.
Mir Asadullah Baloch said that the issues of Balochistan are to be resolved by the House. He appreciated the services of former Speaker Mir Jan Muhammad Jamali and former deputy Speaker Sadar Babar Musakhail saying they run the House in an excellent manner.
Mir Zahoor Buledi hoped that the members of assembly would play their part to resolve issues of the province.
He asked those making criticism on elections to work hard instead of criticism. He said that the recent elections may not be made controversial. He said that our leaders have accepted results of the elections, therefore, others should also do so.
Farah Azeem Shah said that heavy responsibilities rest with our shoulders, so we have to make struggle for resolving public issues together.
Mir Zabid Reki also pledged that we have to work for development of the province. He said that development of Balochistan is actually development of Pakistan.
Ali Madad Jatak said that we would have to bring peace and development in the province. He also criticized National Party chief, Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch saying his party could not secure even a single seat in 2008 elections. Still, his party secured four seats in the recent elections, adding he mentioned.
He said that Dr. Malik Baloch should have boycotted the assembly session on the issue of Gwadar.
He said that the people of Gwadar have been crying for help these days.
Sadiq Umrani said that the PPP and PML-N decided to work together for rehabilitation and stability of economy of the country.
He also demanded investigation into the alleged embezzlement of funds made during the past tenure.
He stressed that a commission should be formed to probe into the alleged irregularities in the funds.
MPAs Barkat Baloch and Abdul Majeed Badini asked to declare Gwadar as calamity hit district.
