CUSTOMS INTELLIGENCE SEIZE RS. 376 MILLION WORTH OF SMUGGLED VEHICLES AND GOODS IN ANTI-SMUGGLING OPERATION

Karachi: Pursuant to strict policy and drive initiated upon the directions of Muhammad Ali Raza Hanjra, Director General, Intelligence & Investigation-Customs, Islamabad, various operations (anti-smuggling) were conducted under the supervision of Masood Ahmed, Director, Customs Intelligence and Investigation, Karachi against the smuggled goods. As a resulted of geared up anti-smuggling efforts during the period from 1st September to 13th September 2024, seventeen (17) seizures were effected pertaining to smuggled / non-duty paid foreign origin vehicles and miscellaneous goods valuing 376 million (Approximately). Vehicles include two (02) heavy bikes and seven (07) luxurious vehicles like Lexus, Prado, Surf, Aqua, etc. fetching market value of Rs.260 million. Seized goods include LCD TVs (400 nos), plastic dana (28,700 kg), Sodium Glutamate (Ajinomoto) (1,950 kg), Printing Ink (900 kg), Refrigerant Gas filled in 10 kg cylinders (720 kg), Black Paper (4,790 Kg), Tyres, Carpets, Betel Nuts, Skimmed Milk Powder, etc. along with the carrier vehicles (passenger Buses, Truck, Cars).
