CS directs DCs to complete election preparations, improve service delivery

QUETTA: The Chief Secretary Balochistan, Shakeel Qadir Khan has directed all the deputy commissioners to complete the preparations for general elections implementing the directives issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
He also directed all the officers to expedite the steps for bringing improvement in the service delivery in their respective departments.
He said that the officers are deputed for the public service and as such they should take steps for provision of the basic facilities to masses at their doorstep.
The Chief Secretary was presiding over the meeting of divisional commissioners and deputy commissioners conference here on Wednesday.
The meeting reviewed the situation and matters related to prevention of smuggling of oil, provision of facilities in education and health sectors, price control committee, repatriation of illegal immigrants and action against the electricity pilferers.
Those who were present in the meeting were included Additional Chief Secretary Home, Zahid Saleem, Secretary Industries, Dr Muhammad Akbar Harifal, senior Member Board of Revenue, Hafiz Muhammad Tahir, Secretary Health, Asfandyar Kakar, Secretary Law, Kalimullah Babar, Commissioner Quetta, Muhammad Hamza Shafqaat, Director General, Levies, Naseebullah Kakar.
The Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners participated in the meeting through video link.
Addressing the meeting, Chief Secretary said that provision of health facilities and quality education is necessary for improvement of the society and the provincial government is taking steps for improvement in both the sectors.
He also directed all the deputy commissioners to visit the hospitals, basic health centers and educational institutions in their respective districts.
