Crackdown against profiteering: 26 shopkeepers held; 19 shops sealed in Quetta

QUETTA: The Quetta district administration has become active against the profiteering in the provincial metropolis after the standing directives of the interim provincial government for provision of relief to the masses after reduction in fuel prices.
On the directives of provincial government, the Deputy Commissioner Quetta, Flt Lt (Retd) Saad bin Asad personally led the campaign against profiteering and encroachments in the metropolis.
During the crackdown, 25 shopkeepers were arrested on the charges of profiteering and establishing encroachments in different parts of the city.
Moreover, 19 shops were also sealed during the crackdown against profiteers in the city.
The Deputy Commissioner on the occasion also visited the shops in different localities and inspected the rate lists.
He directed the concerned to display the official price list at the prominent place of their outlets, otherwise stern action would be taken against them.
