CONSULTATIVE SESSION ON DRAFT LAW FOR PROTECTION OF WOMEN’S RIGHTS IN BALOCHISTAN

Karachi: Aug. 14 A consultative session was held at a local hotel in Karachi to discuss the draft law for the Protection of Women’s Rights and Shelter Homes Act 2024 in Balochistan. The session was organized by the Shehri-Citizens for a Better Environment (CBE) and attended by prominent figures, including:

– Ghazala Gola, Chairperson of the Women’s Parliamentary Caucus and Speaker of the Balochistan Assembly
– Raheela Durrani, Provincial Minister for Education
– Mir Zahoor Ahmed Buledi, Provincial Minister for Planning
– Kulsoom Naz Baloch and Shahina Umrani, Members of the Provincial Assembly
– Fauzia Shaheen, Chairperson of the Commission on the Status of Women in Balochistan
– Kailash Nath Kohli, renowned legal expert and former Chairman of the Balochistan Public Service Commission
– Taher Habib, Advocate
– Nasser Baloch, Deputy Director of Social Welfare
– Muhammad Sameer, Section Officer
– Farida Shaheed, Executive Director of Shehri-CBE
– Hamira Sheikh, Director of Shehri-CBE
– Sana Reza, Coordinator of Shehri-CBE
– Tahir Ahmed, Anwar Baloch, and Seema Batool also attended the session.

The session aimed to discuss and finalize the draft law for the protection of women’s rights in Balochistan.
