General Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), visited the Karachi Corps area yesterday, where he received a briefing on the Army’s operational preparedness and training initiatives. During his visit, he also inaugurated Innovista Indus IT Park, a hub designed to empower Pakistan’s youth by fostering collaboration between academia and industry in Information Technology, particularly Artificial Intelligence.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Honourable Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah, and notable civil community members. Chief Minister Sindh emphasized the importance of the IT domain for optimal exploitation of youth potential and economic growth.
General Munir highlighted that such projects aim to provide a conducive environment to promote the growth of the IT Industry in Pakistan, which is already accelerating at a respectable pace. He also interacted with Karachi’s business community, appreciating their contributions to the country’s economic growth.
The participants expressed confidence in the positive economic indicators achieved by the Sindh Industrial and Financial Centre (SIFC), providing an enabling environment for further economic growth. General Munir commended the efforts of Federal and Provincial Governments in supporting initiatives and acknowledged the defeat of naysayers who attempted to create despair and despondency in society.
He also appreciated the role of brotherly and friendly countries, especially China, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, in Pakistan’s economic recovery. General Munir emphasized Pakistan’s remarkable potential and urged unconditional trust and confidence in the country’s bright future.
Upon arrival, General Munir was received by the Corps Commander Karachi.
