SWAT- The Deputy Commissioner Swat Dr Qasim Ali took stern action after receiving public complaints against the compressed natural gas (CNG) stations involved in overcharging at different localities of District Swat. The district administration team was fined several CNG pumps during action against profiteering and irregularities in gauge. Following the directives of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Swat Dr Qasim Ali, the team of district administration conducted raids on filling stations in various localities of the district during night time and fined more than 10 CNG pumps. The CNG stations had increased the price of gas from Rs234 per kg to Rs309 per kg on their own the other day before the due time. Talking our correspondent DC SWAT Dr Qasim Ali Khan said that if any owner is found receiving extra money, his stations would be sealed or heavily fined, nobody could charge extra money until the government announced the increase in the CNG price, he added. The Deputy Commissioner has directed all administrative officers for continued inspections of the filling stations and stern action against those keeping lower gauge and other violations.
