CM MOHSIN NAQVI ANNOUNCES SWEEPING REDUCTIONS: TRANSPORT FARES, ESSENTIAL COMMODITIES PRICES SLASHED IN FAISALABAD ADDRESS

Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi has announced a significant reduction in transport fares, as well as prices for essential commodities such as flour, ghee, chicken, pulses, and sugar. Speaking to media at the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industries, CM Mohsin Naqvi revealed that diesel bus fares will see a 10% reduction, while petrol bus fares will experience a 15% decrease.
He further stated that pulse prices will witness a decrease of Rs. 20 to Rs. 30, while ghee prices will be reduced by Rs. 15 per kg. Additionally, chicken prices are expected to drop by 12 to 15 percent. CM Mohsin Naqvi emphasized that this move is aimed at providing genuine relief to the people of the province.
He expressed optimism about the strengthening economy and hinted at more positive developments in the near future. The entire team has been tirelessly working to lower the prices of essential commodities, with daily meetings convened by the Chief Secretary Punjab at 9:30 am.
CM Mohsin Naqvi highlighted that the price of pulses has seen a significant reduction of Rs. 30. Furthermore, he assured that the Punjab government will soon commence the release of wheat, leading to further reductions in flour prices.
Moreover, ghee prices are slated to decrease by Rs. 15, and poultry prices are expected to drop by 12 to 15 percent. Chicken prices are projected to come down by Rs. 110 per kg. Additionally, sugar prices have seen a reduction from Rs. 180 to Rs. 145 per kg, with Ex-mill sugar priced at Rs. 133, and the anticipation of further decreases.
CM Mohsin Naqvi lauded the swift response, stating that a 48-hour deadline for price reduction was met within 8 hours. Industries Minister SM Tanveer and the administration worked tirelessly to achieve these reductions. CM Mohsin Naqvi personally visited bus stands and the Faisalabad bus station to inquire about fares, resulting in a 10% reduction in diesel bus fares and a 15% reduction in petrol bus fares. Successful negotiations have also led to a 10% reduction in cargo fares, providing passengers with substantial savings.
CM Mohsin Naqvi reassured that efforts will be made to sustain these price reductions, and further reductions will be considered if petrol prices continue to decrease. He emphasized the historic significance of holding a cabinet meeting in Faisalabad and engaging with the Chamber of Commerce.
Responding to questions, he emphasized a commitment to fairness and not depriving anyone of their rights. He highlighted a 35% increase in employee salaries, along with substantial promotions within the police force.
Earlier, CM Mohsin Naqvi, along with the Punjab Cabinet, visited the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industries. He was welcomed by the President and officials of the Chamber, who discussed economic stability and offered suggestions. CM Mohsin Naqvi extended an invitation to industrialists to collaborate on the management of government hospitals and schools, emphasizing the need for collective efforts to enhance healthcare and education.
He clarified that government schools will not be privatized, and teachers will remain unchanged. Efforts are underway to improve healthcare and education facilities. CM Mohsin Naqvi assured that public welfare projects in Faisalabad will be prioritized.
Present at the occasion were Chief Secretary, Inspector General of Police, Secretaries of different departments, Commissioner Faisalabad Division, CPO Faisalabad, Deputy Commissioner, and relevant officials.
