CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif Inaugurates Forest Station at Wahndo Interchange

LAHORE, 04 July 2024:
Four mega projects for Gujranwala, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif inaugurated Forest Station project at Wahndo Interchange. CM formally inaugurated the Gujranwala Expressway project. She also laid the foundation stone of Gujranwala Alipur up to Qadirabad road. The 14 km long Alipur to Qadirabad road will cost Rs. One billion. She also laid the foundation stone of the construction and rehabilitation project of Chan da Qila up to Aziz Cross Chowk. 12.57 km long dual road will be constructed on it. A flyover will also be constructed at Chan da Qila for the smooth flow of traffic.
The Chief Minister visited Gujranwala Expressway and reviewed progress being made on it. She formally launched the plantation campaign by planting a sapling. The CM was given a detailed briefing on the Forest Station in which it was apprised that approximately 40,000 local saplings have been planted at Wahndo Forest Station. 12 types of local trees including kachnaar, pulcan, arjun, pomegranate, jamun and amaltas have been planted in the forest.
The Monitoring Wing of the Forest department will take care of the trees. Water Pumps have been installed at 10 locations for the irrigation purpose in the forest. 10 water pumps which will regularly irrigate the Forest Station. Secretary C&W gave a comprehensive briefing on the Gurjaranwala Wahndo Express project.
Khurram Dastagir Khan, Provincial Information Minister Azma Zahid Bokhari. Provincial Minister Sohaib Ahmed Malik. Special Assistant Zeeshan Malik, Members of National and Provincial Assembly, ticket holders, Chief Secretary, Secretary C&W, Secretary Forest, Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, RPO and other relevant officials were also present.
