CM indebted to federation on grant for rehabilitation activities in flood affected areas of Balochistan

QUETTA: The Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti has expressed thanks to the federal government on the grant for rehabilitation activities in the flood affected areas of the province.
The Chief Minister was participating through video link in the high level meeting held with the Federal Minister for Planning and Development, Ahsan Iqbal in the chair in Islamabad on Thursday.
The Chief Secretary Balochistan, Shakeel Qadir Khan, Additional Chief Secretary Development, Hafiz Abdul Basit, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Imran Zarkoon, Secretary Finance, Babar Khan and other high ups participated in the meeting through video link.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister said that the floods of 2010 and 2022 caused heavy devastations in the province. He, however, thanked the federation on the grant for rehabilitation in the flood affected areas of the province.
He said that it is necessary to set up meet office of the rehabilitation projects in Quetta. He on the occasion suggested to include Chief Secretary and Additional Chief Secretary Development in the committee formed for review of the projects.
The Chief Minister said that not only the communication links would be strengthened with early execution of the development projects of Balochistan included in the federal PSDP, but it would also have positive impacts on the overall development and infrastructure of the province. For this purpose, federal government’s cooperation is necessary, adding he stressed.
Referring the Kachhi canal project, the Chief Minister said that it is an important agricultural project.
He on the occasion stressed the need to hold meeting for review of the Kachhi canal project immediately. Agreeing to the proposal of Chief Minister, the Federal Minister Planning directed to hold the review meeting immediately.
