CM expresses anger over making advance payment of Rs. 1 billion for development projects of health sector in Balochistan

QUETTA: The Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti has expressed anguish over making advance payment of Rs. 1 billion for development projects of health sector in the province.
He directed the concerned authorities to lodge FIR against those responsible for advance payment after fixation of the responsibility.
He also directed to the Anti-Corruption department to arrest all the responsible after conducting investigations into the matter.
The Chief Minister was chairing a review meeting of the Health department here on Tuesday.
The Member provincial assembly, Dr. Rubaba Khan Buledi, Chief Secretary Balochistan, Shakeel Qadir Khan, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Imran Zarkoon, Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development, Abdul Saboor Khan Kakar, Secretary Finance, Babar Khan, Secretary Health, Abdullah Khan and other concerned high ups.
Addressing the meeting, Chief Minister directed to ensure appointment of surgeons in all district headquarter hospitals within 10 days.
In addition to this, the Chief Minister also directed to ensure uninterrupted supply of medicines in the hospital and adding he asserted he would personally review the situation.
He regretfully pointed out that there are certain complaints about purchase of medicines in the health sector, which needs to be addressed.
The Chief Minister issued standing directives to the Chief Secretary to start implementation on the initiatives proposed for well being of the people right from today.
Referring the advance payment of Rs. 1 billion for development projects in health sector, the Chief Minister expressed dismay over the advance payment saying that the payment was made, but work was not done.
He on the occasion observed that the buildings of basic health units are used for personal sittings and gatherings in interior parts of the province.
He asserted that we cant waste the public resources on unnecessary projects at all, and added that no project would be brought under consideration without SNE in future.
He said that the basic health units which are not meeting the criteria are burden on the public resources. Therefore, all such non-functional health units should be closed down, adding he directed.
The Chief Minister directed to send the doctors recruited on district merit to their respective home districts.
He also asked the concerned quarters to establish modern well equipped burn unit after expanding the existing one, and present report about establishing modern burn unit under public-private partnership.
Meanwhile, he on the occasion highly appreciated the services of Dr. Rubaba Khan Buledi for preparation of the draft of Healthcare Commission Balochistan and performing remarkable services in the health sector and announced to nominate her (Dr. Rubaba) for the highest civil award, Sitara-e-Imtiaz.
