Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif immediately reached Sargodha after chairing the maiden provincial cabinet meeting. CM visited the proposed site of Sargodha Institute of Cardiology at Faisalabad Road. CM directed to complete the Sargodha Institute of Cardiology in one year. Maryam Nawaz reached Sargodha Model Police Station after visiting the proposed site of the Sargodha Institute of Cardiology. CM met with the national and provincial assembly members and ticket holders belonging to the Sargodha division in the Commissioner office. Later, CM paid a surprise visit to the DHQ Sargodha and inspected the wards. Hundreds of citizens including women reached the hospital on receiving information about the arrival of CM Maryam Nawaz. CM stopped on seeing the women and shook hands with them turn by turn. According to the details, CM Maryam Nawaz reviewed the proposed site of Sargodha Institute of Cardiology. It was informed to the CM during the briefing being given on the Sargodha Institute of Cardiology that a cardiology ward, cath lab, angio ward, nursing ward, doctors hostel and other departments will be established in the cardiology institute. CCU, ICU and OPD are also included in the Sargodha Institute of Cardiology. Maryam Nawaz directed to keep in view the ease of the public in their transportation during the construction of the hospital. She maintained that DHQ Sargodha will also be upgraded. Later, CM conducted a detailed visit of the Sargodha Saddar Police Station. CM witnessed the front desk, other sections and also inspected the lockups at the Saddar Police Station. CM visited the Victim Support Centre and communicated with the woman present over there. She lauded the woman police officer on being informed to her about extending cooperation towards the women. Maryam Nawaz urged the woman police officer to listen to everyone and stand with the oppressed at any cost. Later, Members Provincial Assembly of Sargodha Division met with the Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif. Commissioner Sargodha gave a briefing about the mega projects and under completion projects. CM was apprised about the Ramadam Nigehban package, Ramadan Bazaar and Cleanliness Campaign in the Sargodha division. Maryam Nawaz directs to immediately restore the water filtration plant on the complaint of the assembly members. She ordered to make functional the street lights. CM directed to impart training to the Price Control Magistrates for the eradication of price-hike. It was agreed to outsource landfill sites during the meeting. The proposal to bring improvement in governance of the urban areas along with the village governance model as well as Matters pertaining to the financial autonomy of the Municipal Corporation and PHA were also reviewed. CM urged the elected representatives to undertake monitoring of the Ramadan distribution package so as to ensure transparency. She exhorted the assembly members to play their pro-active role in providing public service and ensuring good governance. She said “Punjab government is your government; every public representative should reach out to the people and improve their communication.” CM revealed that one billion rupees are being spent on construction and repair of roads in Punjab.
