CM & CEO PPL discuss exploration of new reservoirs of oil & gas, better utilization of natural resources in Balochistan

QUETTA: The Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL), Imran Abbasi called on the Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti here on Saturday.
During the course of meeting, they discussed about exploration of new reservoirs of oil and gas and better utilization of the natural resources.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister stressed that search of new exploration blocks for finding oil, gas and other minerals is necessary.
He on the occasion directed to ensure better use of the social welfare funds of the PPL.
In this regard, the provincial government would extend every possible cooperation to PPL.
While emphasizing on better use of the social sector funds of PPL, the Chief Minister directed to prepare better and comprehensive CSR plan for the province especially Sui.
He also directed to finalize the extension of Sui agreement soon with mutual understanding and in this regard, adding he directed to the concerned high ups to settle the issues between the PPL administration and the provincial government.
He directed to decide acceptable formula for resolving the two-sides issues.
In this regard, preference should be given to resolve the public issues, he maintained.
He stressed that it is joint responsibility of the provincial government and PPL to resolve the public issues in Dera Bugti. Such viable projects of social welfare should be formulated under the CSR that directly benefit the poor people.
Besides, he directed to provide gas to two colonies of Sui on priority basis while making the efforts for resolving public issues fruitful.
Similarly, the provision of education, health and basic facilities should be given priority in the projects of social welfare, adding he stressed.
He said that restoration of public trust on the national companies is possible by resolving the issues facing general public.
He said that PPL is a national organization with which every possible cooperation would be extended.
