Quetta, August 30,- Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Safaraz Bugti chaired a meeting of the Balochistan Disaster Management Commission, directing authorities to take pre-emptive measures to effectively deal with natural disasters. The meeting aimed to enhance disaster management and mitigation efforts in the province.
The CM ordered that communication links be maintained during natural disasters by ensuring the protection of contact bridges and that scientific data collection be made more effective to better cope with natural disasters. Additionally, he directed that a study on flood situations caused by monsoon rains be initiated every year in February.
The meeting was attended by key officials, including the Leader of the Opposition, Member Commission, and Chief Secretary Balochistan. With these directives, the CM aims to strengthen the province’s disaster management capabilities and ensure timely responses to natural calamities.
