ISLAMABAD – In a bold and decisive move, Pir Suleman Shah Rashdi, a civil servant of the Information Group, has tendered his resignation from the Civil Service of Pakistan, expressing deep disillusionment with the current state of affairs in the country. In his resignation letter, Rashdi stated that he could no longer remain a part of a “system” that he believes is inflicting aggression on its own citizens, particularly in the wake of brutal state aggression against unarmed protesters in a recent incident. He condemned the government’s actions and the widespread corruption within Pakistan’s political system, accusing it of prioritizing the interests of the elite over those of the general public. Rashdi, who has served in the civil service for years, stated that the government’s failure to uphold constitutional limits and its ruthless use of force against peaceful citizens left him with no choice but to resign. He further criticized the mainstream media for ignoring the suffering of the people and becoming complicit in the state’s aggressive actions. The resignation comes amidst growing tensions between the government and the public, as well as widespread unrest over political, economic, and social issues in Pakistan. Rashdi emphasized the importance of standing on the “right side of history” and called for greater democracy and justice in Pakistan. Rashdi’s resignation letter ends with a firm declaration of his intention to contribute to the struggle for democracy and justice as a concerned citizen, while also expressing disdain for the corruption and systemic abuse of power that has plagued the country. The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting has been requested to process his resignation as soon as possible.
