CHINESE INVESTORS EXPRESS INTEREST IN SETTING UP ELECTRIC BIKE PLANT IN PUNJAB

(Indpendent Report) Lahore, August 8: A delegation of Chinese investors met with Punjab Minister for Industry and Trade Chaudhry Shafique Hussain to discuss potential investment opportunities in the province.

The meeting, held at the Punjab Investment Board’s committee room, focused on cooperation in technical education, IT sector, and electric business. The Chinese investors expressed interest in setting up an electric bike plant in Punjab and establishing charging stations.

Minister Chaudhry Shafique Hussain said the government is serious about promoting electric vehicles to control environmental pollution. He added that the government is providing 10,000 electric bikes to university and college students.

The minister assured the Chinese investors of full cooperation and facilities to set up the electric bike plant. He highlighted the presence of excellent industrial infrastructure in Punjab’s industrial centers and special economic zones, offering attractive incentives for investors.

The Chinese delegation also requested six kanals of land to establish a research center. The meeting was attended by officials of various Chinese companies and Punjab Investment Board.
