Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi conducted a morning visit to the ongoing Cavalry Underpass and Ghora Chowk flyover projects. Accompanying him were Provincial Ministers Amir Mir, Bilal Afzal, Ibrahim Hasan Murad, and Inspector General of Police Dr. Usman Anwar. Undertaking an extensive inspection, Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi covered a 1.25-kilometer route from Ghora Chowk to Cavalry Ground, closely examining the construction progress.
The Ghora Chowk flyover, with 75% of shuttering and steel fixing completed, is advancing well, while the Cavalry underpass has initiated asphalt work. Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi observed the placement of heavy girders on the underpass roof, meticulously reviewing the projects’ advancements. He emphasized the necessity for consistent water sprinkling at the sites for ongoing construction.
Expressing the significance of these projects, Chief Minister Naqvi highlighted that their completion will establish a signal-free corridor from Center Point Gulberg to Ghora Chowk Defense Mor. The beneficiaries will include residents in Gulberg, Kalma Chowk, CBD, cantt, Cavalry Ground, DHA, and Walton.
During the visit, Commissioner Lahore Division and DG LDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa, Chief Engineer LDA, and the Contractor provided insights into the Cavalry Underpass Project. CEO of Central Business District Authority Imran Amin briefed on the progress of the Ghora Chowk flyover project. The Ghora Chowk flyover, featuring three lanes, has completed all piles, pile caps, and foundational elements. Notable officials, including CCPO, Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner Lahore, Chief Engineer LDA, DG PHA, CBD Executive Director Technical, Director Project Management, Director Construction, Technical Team, and Contractor, were present during the inspection.
