CHIEF MINISTER MOHSIN NAQVI INAGURATES 5 KEY WELFARE PROJECTS IN MULTAN

Lahore,  : Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi dedicated a five-hour visit to Multan today, unveiling five major welfare projects valued at billions of rupees. Among the initiatives was the inauguration of a state-of-the-art 100-bed emergency department at South Punjab’s largest children’s hospital and the comprehensive upgrade of the hospital’s OPD, pathology, and other departments.

Additionally, Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi inaugurated Punjab’s fourth Business Facilitation Center at Tehsil Office, Multan. Three crucial roads in Jalalpur Pirwala, which had been stalled for two years, also inaugurated, including the 48 km Shujaabad-Jalalpur Pirwala road, 17 km Jalalpur to Permit road, and 15 km Basti Maluk-Shujaabad road.

During the visit, Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi inspected the Shujaabad flyover project and the ongoing upgradation works at the Hazrat Shah Shams Tabriz shrine. A thorough examination of the Hospital Information Management System in Pharmacy, OPD, and Lab, along with the facilities for children, was conducted.

In the subsequent briefing, Chief Minister Naqvi learned that the 100-bed children’s emergency includes triage, medical and surgical services. Child Life Foundation is set to assist in arrangements for Multan Children’s Emergency, modeled after Mayo Hospital’s state-of-the-art Children’s Emergency. Notably, Fatima Fertilizers, led by Fawad Mukhtar and his sister, played a pivotal role in renovating the children’s hospital run by Child Life Foundation.

Speaking to the media post-inauguration, Chief Minister Naqvi acknowledged the challenging nature of hospital upgradation and expressed joy on the successful completion of the Children’s Hospital project. He praised the hard work of the Department of Health and the Department of Communication and Works, highlighting the commendable results.

Chief Minister Naqvi extended appreciation to Fawad Mukhtar and his wife for their support, emphasizing their contribution as exemplary citizens. The management of Children’s Hospital was lauded for their dedicated efforts and perfect finishing work.

Looking ahead, Chief Minister Naqvi announced the imminent inauguration of Nishtar 2 and DHQ Hospital South City. He highlighted the speedy construction of Punjab’s fourth Business Facilitation Center in Multan, aiming to provide streamlined services under one roof.

Efforts are underway to complete the Shujaabad flyover in the next 30 days. The Chief Minister emphasized the pressure on hospitals from patients in Balochistan and South Punjab, stressing the importance of upgraded facilities.

Regarding road projects, Chief Minister Naqvi noted the opening of tenders for Multan roads, including Nawabpur road, with work set to commence shortly. Upgradation projects for the shrines of Musa Pak and Shah Shams Tabriz are in progress, and the Qasim Bagh project will begin soon.

The Chief Minister concluded by expressing gratitude for the successful completion of the three road projects ahead of schedule. He directed a focus on high-quality construction and timely completion of works related to the Shujaabad Flyover.

The Shujaabad flyover project progress was reviewed, with Chief Minister Naqvi directing its completion within the stipulated period. Quality assurance in construction works and timely completion of roads adjacent to the Shujaabad Flyover were emphasized.

Subsequently, Mohsin Naqvi inaugurated the fourth Business Facilitation Center in Multan, providing certificates of NOCs to businessmen. He emphasized the center’s role in offering comprehensive services to Multan’s industrial and business community.

Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi then visited the shrine of Hazrat Shah Shams Tabriz, reviewing the ongoing upgradation work. He stressed the importance of ensuring quality in construction activities while maintaining the historical significance of the shrine.

Provincial Minister for Industries SM Tanveer, Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman, Additional Chief Secretary South Punjab, Secretary of Communication and Works, Health, Industry, President Multan Chamber of Commerce, Businessmen, Secretary Health South Punjab, Commissioner Multan, RPO Multan, CPO Multan, Deputy Commissioner Multan, Principal Multan Medical College, Executive Director Children Hospital Multan and other concerned officials were also present on the occasion.
