QUETTA: The Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti has categorically stated that the education, health and better service delivery would be among top priorities in the next financial year’s budget for 2024-25.
He directed the concerned authorities to keep in view the collective interests of the people of Balochistan instead of the interests of individual as well as liking and disliking in the upcoming budget.
The Chief Minister was chairing a meeting held to review the next financial year budget of the project, here on Monday.
Those who were in attendance at the meeting were included the Provincial Minister for Finance, Mir Shoaib Nausherwani, Minister for Planning and Development, Mir Zahoor Ahmed Buledi, Additional Chief Secretary Development, Hafiz Abdul Basit, Secretary Finance, Babar Khan, Chairman Balochistan Revenue Authority, Noorul Haq Baloch, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Imran Zarkoon, Special Secretary Asfandyar Baloch besides other concerned high ups of the Finance and Planning and Development departments.
Addressing the meeting, Chief Minister directed to complete DAC of all the projects within a month.
He also directed to spend the available resources on collective public welfare projects after reviewing the unbeneficial ongoing projects. Besides, unnecessary vacancies should be converted in the vacancies having much importance, he added.
He said that major surgery is needed in the PSDP to make the development projects compatible with the public requirements.
He stressed that there is a need to keep public interests in view irrespective of the political opportunism as it is very necessary to benefit from the fruits of budget.
