Chairman PAC dismayed over untimely completion of projects of Irrigation Department

QUETTA: The Chairman, Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Asghar Khan Tareen has expressed dismay over untimely completion of the development projects of Irrigation Department.
The Chairman PAC said that the projects are not completing due to incompetence of the Irrigation Department.
He said that overrun payment of billions of rupees has been made for the projects and inquired as who would pay the losses?
The Chairman PAC was presiding over the meeting in the committee room of Balochistan Assembly on Wednesday. The meeting reviewed the aud paras of Irrigation Department for the financial year 2021-22 and 2022-23 and other related matters.
The members of PAC Zabid Ali Reki and Fazal Qadir Mandokhail, Director General Audit, Shuja Ali, Accountant General, Nasrullah Jan, Secretary Irrigation, Hafiz Abdul Majid, Additional Secretary PAC, Sirajuddin Lehri, Additional Secretary Law, Saeed Iqbal, Additional Secretary Finance, Muhammad Arif, Chief Accounts Officer, PAC, Syed Muhammad Idris, Project Directors of Irrigation Department, and other concerned officials were in attendance at the meeting.
The Chairman PAC also expressed displeasure over the lack of preparation of the Irrigation Department.
