Chairman PAC concerned about non-participation of DCs & non provision of compensation to affectees of land

QUETTA: The Chairman Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Asghar Ali Tareen has expressed concern over non-participation of Deputy Commissioners as well as non evacuation of the public lands and non provision of compensation amount to the affectees.

The Chairman PAC directed to write official letter to Chief Secretary for taking stern action against the concerned Deputy Commissioners on their absence from the committee’s meeting.

He said that the Deputy Commissioners were provided opportunity to participate in the PAC’s meeting twice, but they failed to do so.

The Chairman PAC was chairing meeting of the committee here on Monday.

The committee comprising Minister for Finance, Mir Shoaib Nausherwani and members of provincial assembly, Zabid Ali Reki and Zamarak Khan Achakzai observed that the people are in trouble due to non receipt of amount of their land, and expressed displeasure over not resolving their issues.

The committee stressed the need to distribute the compensation amount among owners of the land, whose cases are not in the court of law. The amount must be paid to them within six months, it was stressed further.

The meeting was attended by the senior Member Board of Revenue, Qambar Dashti, Secretary Board of Revenue, Nasrullah Tareen, Auditor General Balochistan, Shuja Ali, Additional Secretary PAC, Siraj Lehri, Additional Secretary Law, Saeed Iqbal, Chief Accounts Officer, Syed Idrees Agha, Deputy Commissioner Lasbela, Humaira Baloch, Deputy Commissioner Awaran, Ayesha Zehri, Additional DC, Killa Abdullah, Nasar Ahmed Langove and other concerned ADCs and Assistant Commissioners.
