THE CARETAKER PROVINCIAL HEALTH MINISTER ANNOUNCED TO GIVE ONE LAC RUPEES FROM HIS OWN POCKET FOR THE NASHEMAN CENTRE OF THE SOCIAL WELFARE COMPLEX.

CHAMAN WILL BE MADE A CENTER OF EXCELLENCE IN THE SOCIAL WELFARE COMPLEX, CHILDREN WILL BE REFERRED HERE FROM THE CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL.

LAHORE, July 10:

Caretaker Provincial Minister of Health and Social Welfare and Baitul Maal departments Dr. Javed Akram made a detailed visit to the Social Welfare Complex Township. Provincial Secretary of Social Welfare and Baitul-Mal Zahoor Hussain gave a briefing to the caretaker provincial health minister Dr. Javed Akram. Caretaker provincial health minister Dr. Javed Akram donated one lac rupees aid for Nasheman Centre. Later, the caretaker provincial minister Dr. Javed Akram presided over the meeting at the Social Welfare Complex, in which Director General Social Welfare Mudassar Riaz Malik, MD Children’s Hospital Lahore Dr. Tipu Sultan, Professor Shazia Manzoor and officers of Department of Social Welfare and Baitul-Mal officers attended.

Caretaker Provincial Health Minister Dr. Javed Akram said that the social welfare complex is going to be further upgraded. Summary for upgradation of Social Welfare Complex will be approved by Chief Minister. Chaman centre will be made a center of excellence in the Social Welfare Complex. Children will also be referred here from Children’s Hospital. Awareness will be spread among the public regarding the improvement of social welfare and Baitul-Mal. Marriage of cousins is the main cause of hereditary diseases in Pakistan. We starting health screening in educational institutions of Punjab. Chaman Center of Social Welfare Complex has been attached to Children Hospital Lahore.

The caretaker provincial health minister added that basic steps are being taken for the rehabilitation of mentally retarded children in the social welfare complex. An advisory board has been formed for each institution in the social welfare complex. A committee is being formed for the further improvement of the social welfare complex. Mentally retarded children will be given diploma through University of Health Sciences in Social Welfare Complex. Free education, accommodation, food and pick and drop facilities are provided to mentally retarded children in Social Welfare Complex. In the Social Welfare Complex, mentally retarded children are also given courses in beautification, arts and crafts, sewing, computer software, cooling, photocopying and other courses.
