QUETTA: The caretaker Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Ali Mardan Khan Domki has expressed concern over the increasing population of the country and described it an issue of national security.
He said that increasing population is the issue of national security and as such there is a dire need to control it.
The Chief Minister said that the provincial government is serious in implementing the national narrative and strategy in accordance with the decision of CCI.
The Chief Minister was presiding over the meeting of Provincial Task Force here on Thursday.
The caretaker provincial Minister for population welfare, Sardar Ejaz Khan Jaffar, Chief Secretary, Shakeel Qadir Khan, concerned authorities , administrative secretaries of different departments and development partners were in attendance at the meeting.
The Secretary Population Welfare Department Asghar Harifal briefed the meeting about the related matters.
Addressing the meeting, Chief Minister emphasized that we have to create balance in our population and resources.
He feared that if the population continued to rise with the same ratio, then country’s population would be doubled in next 30 years.
He said that we have to take joint measures to achieve the combined national targets.
In this regard, the provincial government would mobilize all available resources, adding he stressed.
