Cabinet decides to approach caretaker PM for relief and rehabilitation of flood affectees in Balochistan

QUETTA: The interim cabinet of Balochistan has fully endorsed the stance taken by the caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) session recently regarding state terrorism of India in the Occupied Kashmir.
The cabinet described the stance adopted by the PM Kakar at United Nations as very positive, and as such the cabinet and people of Balochistan are standing by that stance of PM.
This and similar other views were expressed by the caretaker Provincial Minister for Information, Jan Achakzai while addressing a hurriedly called press conference soon after the cabinet meeting at the CM’s secretariat on Monday.
The caretaker Minister Information said that India has been involved in the terrorism in Balochistan, and it is victim of the Indian terrorism.
The caretaker Prime Minister very forcefully raised the issues and highlighted them effectively, and as such the cabinet fully endorsed his stance in the UN, Jan Achakzai maintained.
Moreover, referring the cabinet meeting and decisions made in it, the Minister Information said that the cabinet decided to approach the caretaker Prime Minister for provision of relief to those who were affected due to the flashfloods in the province, and are still awaiting the government’s assistance.
In this regard, the caretaker Chief Minister Mir Ali Mardan Khan Domki would approach the caretaker Prime Minister Kakar and sought his cooperation for the relief of flood affected people in the province, he maintained.
In addition to this, the cabinet has also decided to lay much focus on the IT promotion and for the purpose, a policy would be adopted, the Minister Information mentioned adding that Balochistan would no more lag behind the other provinces in the IT sector.
Similarly, the cabinet has also decided to form a committee comprising the Ministers and administrative secretaries to sort out the issues related to IT sector.
Jan Achakzai also informed that the cabinet has approved release of Rs. 18 crore for the purchase of medicines for cancer ward.
The approval has also been given for preparation of a feasibility report for rehabilitation of the Pasni fish harbour, Mr. Achakzai told.
The Minister Information said that the interim government has to find the solution to the longstanding issues facing the province.
He particularly referred to the issues related to environment and water and noted with concern that Balochistan has affected the most due to environment. Environment is a challenge facing the province and we have to cope with it, he vowed.
