QUETTA: The Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti has stated that measures are being taken to cope with the challenges of climate change as these are included in the provincial government’s priorities.
The Chief Minister was speaking on occasion of the inauguration of monsoon tree plantation campaign at the CM’s secretariat on Friday.
The Provincial Ministers Ali Madad Jatak, Mir Muhammad Sadiq Umrani and other high ups were also present.
The Chief Minister stressed the need to make the monsoon tree plantation campaign successful. In this regard, he urged the members of provincial assembly to play their wholehearted role for promotion of tree plantation in their respective areas.
He said that at the time when Balochistan is facing the unexpected rains and flood situation due to the climate change, therefore, tree plantation is necessary for remaining safe from the effects of climate change.
This is why, we are taking steps for tackling the challenge of climate change in the province.
Earlier, the Chief Minister and Provincial Ministers inaugurated the monsoon tree plantation campaign by planting saplings of Quetta pine.
