QUETTA: The Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti has stated that the whole House of Provincial Assembly considers the issue of trawling for fishing as serious, and as such necessary legislation would be made for prevention of the trawling in the province’s sea.
The Chief Minister said that the Marine Time Department has also been requested to cooperate anti-trawling.
He pleaded to the members of assembly to respect one another.
The Chief Minister was speaking in the last sitting of the budget session of Balochistan Assembly on Saturday.
The Speaker Captain (Retd) Abdul Khaliq Khan Achakzai was in the chair.
The Chief Minister maintained that trawling is a serious issue in the sea of Gwadar.
He noted with concern that the livelihood of our fishermen and fisheries sector is affected due to the trawling.
Earlier, on a point of order, the member Provincial Assembly from Gwadar, Maulana Hidayatur Rehman pointed out that the trawler mafia are making preparations for entering in Gwadar from July 15.
He asserted that stern action would be taken against the trawler mafia in Gwadar.
He also demanded of the government to take prompt action against the trawler mafia.
He charged that the opposition members are favouring the trawler mafia.
Maulana Hidayatur Rehman said that he is not part of the cabinet but part of the House.
The leader of the Opposition Mir Younas Aziz Zehri said that the issue of trawlers is of the whole province and on this issue, we are with Maulana Hidayatur Rehman.
But, he (Maulana Hidayatur Rehman should also speak gently.
Meanwhile, on another point of order raised by the Member Provincial Assembly, Mir Liaquat Lehri about the raid of police at his residence after the untoward incident of manhandling of a traffic police official by his (Lehri) nephew, the Minister Home, Mir Ziaullah Langove said that the matter has been taken in notice of the Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti.
The Chief Minister has already issued orders for investigations into incident.
The Minister said that the incident of torture on the traffic police cop.
However, the MPA Mir Liaquat Lehri staged walk out of the session saying that sanctity of the chadar and char deewari has been violated by the police.
He said that the incident of torture of the police cop should not have been done.
Later, the session of Provincial assembly was adjourned for an indefinite period.
