BNP’s Naseer Shahwani, Maqbool Lehri, Ghulam Nabi Marri, PkMAP’s Majeed Achakzai, HDP’s Qadir Nayal, PTI’s Abdul Hayee allowed to contest elections

QUETTA: The Appellate Tribunals kept on hearing of the appeals of elections candidates against rejection of their respective nomination papers in the premises of Balochistan High Court here on Wednesday.
The Tribunals consisting of Judges of BHC, Mr. Justice Muhammad Hashim Kakar and Mr. Justice Muhammad Aamir Nawaz Rana heard the appeals of candidates filed against rejection of their papers.
At the outset, over 120 appeals were heard by the Appellate Tribunals on Wednesday. After hearing the appeals, several candidates were allowed to contest upcoming general elections in the province.
The Tribunal comprising Mr. Justice Hashim Kakar allowed PkMAP’s candidate Abdul Majeed Achakzai, HDP’s Qadir Ali Nayal and Muhammad Dawood, BNP’s Ghulam Nabi Marri, Mir Maqbool Ahmed Lehri, and Malik Naseer Shahwani, PTI’s candidate Syed Abdul Hayee besides others.
Similarly, some independent candidates namely Dayer Hussain, Moeenullah, Muhammad Akbar, Naqeebullah, Jawad Khan, Abdul Basit, Muhammad Ishaq, Musa Khan, Abdul Hanan were also allowed to contest elections.
They had filed appeals against rejection of their nomination papers from seats of different provincial and national assemblies.
The last date for deciding appeals against acceptance and rejection of nomination papers of the candidates by the Appellate Tribunal has been fixed as January 10, 2024.
As per the schedule, revised list of the candidates would be published on January 11, 2024 while last date for withdrawal of candidature and publication of revised list of candidates is January 12, 2024.
The allotment of election symbol to the contesting candidates would be made on January 13, 2024.
