QUETTA: The leaders of Balochistan National Party (BNP) have underlined the need for resolving the Wadh issue through political means demanding of the government to show seriousness towards it.
They said that bringing peace in the province through use of force is not possible.
The BNP senior leader Malik Naseer Shahwani along with other leaders was addressing press conference at the Quetta Press Club on Thursday noon.
Also present at the presser were Sajid Tareen, Shakeela Naveed, Ghulam Nabi Mari and others.
The BNP senior leader Malik Naseer Shahwani alleged that the situation in Wadh is critical for last three months, but the government doesn’t seem serious to resolve the issue.
He said that one-sided decisions were made in the provincial Apex committee meeting held in Quetta instead of resolving the issue.
He said that it was talked about removing the shelters built for safety of the residence of BNP chief, Sardar Akhtar Mengal in Wadh.
Mr. Shahwani alleged that attempts are being made to remove Sardar Akhtar Mengal from the political scene.
He pointed out that around 30,000 people have been migrated from Wadh due to the prevailing critical circumstances there.
He demanded of the concerned quarters to convene meeting of the committee formed on the issue of Wadh and resolve it.
He asserted that if the situation was not improved, then the protests would be lodged in the province.
He announced that protest demonstrations would be held on October 18 in the province. moreover, shutter down strike would be observed on October 20 and wheel jam would be observed on October 26 on all highways of the province.
In the meantime, the children and women would protest over the Wadh situation on October 15, Mr. Shahwani added.
