BNP announces to participate in protest public meeting and demonstrations of BYC

QUETTA: The Balochistan National Party (BNP) leadership has announced to participate in the protest public meeting and demonstrations being staged by Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) in Gwadar and other parts of the province.
While addressing a press conference at the Quetta Press Club along with other senior party leaders, the senior Vice President of BNP, Sajid Tareen Advocate said that the party has decided to participate in the protest demonstrations and public meeting of the BYC in Gwadar.
He asked the party leaders and workers to participate in the protest demonstrations, rallies and Gwadar’s public meeting.
He condemned to stop those proceeding for Gwadar jalsa forcibly by the administration saying that it is condemnable to stop the people from proceeding for Gwadar and incident of firing on them in Mastung.
He said that those going for Gwadar jalsa were armless and peaceful. He said that the videos showing that the firing was resorted on the people riding on their vehicles.
He said that we condemn the government for turning the peaceful public meeting violent.
Sajid Tareen said that the country’s constitution gives the right to hold public meeting and free movement.
He said that this action of the government would keep the people away from politics and heighten the extremism. However, the BNP would continue to play its role to stop that, adding he asserted.
The BNP’s senior leader on the occasion criticized the outcome of February 8’s general elections saying that these elections were mere darama. He charged that those were brought in the assemblies had nothing to do with the public interest.
