QUETTA: The Bolan Medical College (BMC) and other three medical colleges of the province reopened after end of strike of the medical teachers on Thursday.
The BMC and other three medical colleges including Jhalawan Medical College Khuzdar, Makran Medical College, Turbat and Loralai Medical College, Loralai were closed for academic activities due to strike of the medical teachers for last over two months.
While all the four medical colleges have been reopened on Thursday, the academic activities have also been restored. However, the regular classes of the students would start from Friday (today).
It may be mentioned here that the medical teachers called off their strike on assurance made by the parliamentary committee of Balochistan Assembly who called on them in BMC on Wednesday evening.
The parliamentary committee formed on directives of the Speaker had assured that the demands and other issues of medical teachers would be taken up at the assembly’s forum. After approval from the assembly, the demands would be presented in the cabinet for further approval.
