Karachi (October 14, 2024): Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has launched the Benazir Hari Card scheme for farmers in Sindh, fulfilling another promise made in the party’s election manifesto.
Addressing the launch ceremony at Bilawal House, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that his party has always taken steps to empower the poor, farmers, and women. He praised the Benazir Income Support Program, introduced by the previous PPP government, as a global model for financial empowerment.
The Benazir Hari Card scheme aims to provide targeted subsidies, easy loans, access to modern agricultural technology, crop insurance, and emergency government aid in case of natural disasters to poor farmers and small landholders across Sindh.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari criticized the current economic situation, saying that every segment of society is struggling. He emphasized the need for investment in agriculture, calling it the only way to stabilize Pakistan’s economy.
The PPP chairman also stressed the importance of judicial reforms and constitutional amendments to ensure equal representation and justice. He announced that his party would continue to push for these reforms through consensus and parliamentary approval.
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Provincial Minister for Agriculture Sardar Muhammad Bakhsh Khan Maher, and PPP leaders Nisar Ahmed Khuhro and Ferial Talpur attended the ceremony.
The Benazir Hari Card scheme is part of PPP’s efforts to support farmers and boost agricultural growth in Sindh.
