BFA CRACKS DOWN ON ADULTERATED MILK AND SUBSTANDARD FOOD ITEMS

The Balochistan Food Authority (BFA) has launched a crackdown on those involved in supplying adulterated milk and other substandard food items, as well as those operating without licenses.

On the directives of Director General BFA, Atiqullah Khan, the authority’s operation teams have imposed fines on over 50 centers in Quetta, Chaman, Chaghi, and Turbat for violating the laws. A large quantity of adulterated milk and other expired and banned products has been confiscated and disposed of.

In Quetta, two milk suppliers involved in supplying adulterated milk on Qambrani Road were seized and eight maunds of milk were confiscated and disposed of. Tests revealed water, dry powder, and natural nutrition deficiencies in the milk samples.

In Chaman, special teams were sent after reports of a cholera outbreak, where water and food samples were collected from the affected areas and sent to the laboratory for analysis. During an inspection in Chaman market, fines were imposed on 18 food centers, including eight general stores.

The BFA spokesperson said that the authority will continue to take strict action against those involved in supplying substandard food items and operating without licenses.
