_QUETTA, AUGUST 28_
The Balochistan National Party (BNP) has announced that it will not participate in the meeting called by the Prime Minister, scheduled to take place in Quetta tomorrow. According to a party statement, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had contacted BNP leader Sardar Akhtar Jan Mengal and requested his participation in the meeting. However, after consultation, the party decided not to attend, citing the government’s failure to address Balochistan’s genuine issues, INCLUDING all problems of Balochistan people’s missing persons and the province’s resources.
The party alleged that the federal government has always acted against the will of the Baloch people and used force to implement its decisions, resulting in the current situation in Balochistan. BNP leader Sardar Akhtar Jan Mengal has raised the issue of missing persons in courts, parliament, and among the public, but governments have failed to resolve it. The party claims that its mandate was stolen in the recent elections due to its stance on missing persons, and a Form 47 was filed by the government in this regard.
