Independent Report

QUETTA: The central joint secretary of Awami National Party and former Member Provincial Assembly, Ms. Shahina Kakar has regretfully pointed out that Balochistan is the most backward and oppressed province of the country, which is lagging behind in all sector right from education and health to the basic infrastructure.
While speaking to different delegations who called on her here the other day, Ms. Shahina Kakar said that the people of Balochistan are deprived of the basic amenities of life despite being important part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
She said that as the livelihood, shelter and clothes are basic needs of the people, so are the health and education facilities.
But, the public healthcare has never been priority of the rulers, she mentioned adding that the state is considered to be the mother, but it seems imprisoned in the critical issues of poverty, ignorance and illness.
In view of the critical situation, the government needs to pay attention on improving the healthcare system particularly in the Pashtoon areas of the province, adding Ms. Shahina Kakar stressed.
She also stressed the need to take immediate steps for improving healthcare facilities in Kuchlalk, Harnai, Pishin, Killa Abdullah, Chaman, Muslim Bagh, Killa Saifullah, Zhob, Duki, Ziarat, Shirani, Musakhail and other areas.
