The Balochistan Health Department has thwarted an attempt by Taha Traders, a pharmaceutical company, to embezzle 220 million rupees through fake bills ¹. An inquiry committee, established by the Secretary Health Balochistan, discovered that Taha Traders had submitted bogus bills for 22 crore 12 lakh 72 thousand 800 rupees, despite being contracted to supply medicines worth only 63 lakh 65 thousand 840 rupees in 2019.
The inquiry committee, comprising Additional Secretary Development Health Department Arif Achakzai, Logistic Officer Dr. Ghulam Mustafa, and Additional Director MSD Dr. Ismail Mirovani, found that Taha Traders had falsified records and obtained fake signatures from officials.
Fake Bills_: Taha Traders submitted bills for 220 million rupees, exceeding the contracted amount by 219 million rupees.
– _Falsified Records_: The company created fake records to support their claims.
– _Fake Signatures_: Officials’ signatures on registers and reports were forged.
The inquiry committee has recommended action against Taha Traders for their fraudulent activities ¹.
