Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Thursday said the youth of the province are being misled through baseless propaganda aimed to hatch conspiracies against the country.

He stressed that the distance between the state and the youth needed to be bridged through the whole nation’s approach.

Addressing the 13th National Workshop Balochistan, he said, “the masses need to be told the truth about Balochistan and the impression that there is a war between the state and separatists in Balochistan is wrong and we all need to fight together. Our security forces have the capability to counter all conspiracies and hostile elements.”

Sarfraz Bugti said that understanding the history of Balochistan is essential to address its issues as every resident of Balochistan wanted peace.

He said there are backward areas in every province and insurgency in Balochistan is not due to backwardness but as a result of personal interests and bad governance in the past.

The Chief Minister said that it is not possible to fix the 70-year-old ineffective system of governance in a few months. The provincial government is making efforts for improvement, but it was essential to have a right direction.

He said that the government was trying to bring reforms in all sectors, especially health and education to ensure relief to the common man.

He said that a government job could not be provided to every youth but in the next two years, 30,000 youth would be trained and sent abroad for employment.

The government would award interest-free loans to the educated youth to initiate start ups and curb the increasing graph of unemployment in the province.

The educated youth would be provided resources for employment in their relevant fields, he added.

The Chief Minister revealed that the Benazir Bhutto Scholarship Program has been launched in Balochistan. Under the program, the youth from all sections including minorities and transgender people would be provided educational scholarships from basic to higher levels.
He added that the PhD students from Balochistan would be given full scholarships to study in the top 200 universities worldwide.

The Chief Minister said, “One can only get a true understanding of Balochistan’s facts by coming here.”

The participants of the National Workshop Balochistan appreciated the efforts of the provincial government and the Chief Minister for addressing their concerns.
