SOHBATPUR, AUGUST 24
Independent Report.
Assistant Commissioner Sahbatpur, Saif-ud-Din Khosa, stated that the district has been facing flood-like situations since the onset of monsoon rains. The recent heavy rainfall in the first week of August and the influx of water from Sindh and Balochistan regions into the Shahi Canal have increased the water pressure. They are closely monitoring the Pat Feeder Canal, Manjhote, Uch Canal, and drainage systems, and are in contact with relevant departments to take prompt actions in case of any danger.
In various villages, breaches have occurred, and upon the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Fareeda Tareen, all possible measures are being taken to provide immediate relief to the affected people. Emergency tents and rations are being distributed in the affected areas, and wherever there is pressure on any canal or drain, teams are promptly reaching the spot to initiate work. All available resources are being utilized to provide relief to the people.
