ANTI-NARCOTICS FORCE CRACKS DOWN ON DRUG SMUGGLING, SEIZES 34 CRORE RUPEES WORTH OF NARCOTICS

Islamabad, August 25, 2024 – The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has launched a crackdown on drug smuggling, resulting in the seizure of 373 kilograms of narcotics worth 34 crore rupees in 10 operations across the country.

The ANF intercepted a passenger at Lahore Airport attempting to smuggle 783 grams of ice to Jeddah. In Karachi, 1.140 kilograms of ice and 50 grams of heroin were seized from a parcel destined for Australia at a courier office. Additionally, 190 kilograms of heroin were seized in Chaman, 100 kilograms of charas and 22 kilograms of opium in Pasni and Gwadar, and 31.2 kilograms of charas and 1.2 kilograms of opium on the M1 Motorway in Islamabad.

Further seizures were made in Quetta, Rawalpindi, and Lahore, resulting in the arrest of 10 suspects. Cases have been registered against the accused under the Anti-Narcotics Act, and investigations are underway.

The ANF’s crackdown on drug smuggling is part of its efforts to combat the illicit drug trade and protect public health.
